As of Apr 29, 2017, the company operated 511 stores in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and Canada, and 646 leased departments located within department stores and baby specialty stores throughout the US and Puerto Rico, as well as 219 international franchised locations, of which 200 are shop-in-shops.

In fiscal 2016, the company opened 11 and closed 32 stores, closed 574 net leased locations, and opened 66 and closed 46 international franchised locations. During the first quarter of fiscal 2017, the company opened 4 and closed 8 stores, closed 59 net leased locations, and opened 8 and closed 2 franchised locations internationally. Throughout the remainder of the fiscal year, the company plans to open a limited number of new stores and will continue to close underperforming stores.

All stores are leased, with initial terms averaging from 5 to 10 years. The distribution of lease expirations is as follows: 123 in 2017, 101 in 2018, 79 in 2019, 30 in 2020, 42 in 2021, while the remaining 140 leases expire in 2022 and later.

Motherhood Maternity stores are located in mid-priced and moderate regional malls, strip and power centers and central business districts, and average 1,800 square feet. A Pea in the Pod stores are located in mid-priced and high-end regional malls, lifestyle centers, central business districts and some stand-alone stores in affluent street locations, and average 2,000 square feet. Destination Maternity combo stores are located in mid-priced regional malls and lifestyle centers and average 3,200 square feet. Destination Maternity superstores are located primarily in outdoor and power centers and central business districts, and average 5,700 square feet.
