As of Feb 3, 2018, the company operated 487 stores in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and Canada, and 637 leased departments located within department stores and baby specialty stores throughout the US and Puerto Rico, as well as 188 international franchised locations, of which 174 are shop-in-shops.

In fiscal 2017, the company opened 7 and closed 35 stores, closed 68 net leased locations, and opened 8 and closed 33 international franchised locations. During fiscal 2018, the company plans to open 3 new stores and to close 20 to 25 underperforming stores.

All stores are leased, with initial terms averaging from 5 to 10 years. The distribution of lease expirations is as follows: 143 in 2018, 97 in 2019, 51 in 2020, 35 in 2021, 28 in 2022, while the remaining 133 leases expire in 2023 and later.

Motherhood Maternity stores are located in mid-priced and moderate regional malls, strip and power centers and central business districts, and average 1,800 square feet. A Pea in the Pod stores are located in mid-priced and high-end regional malls, lifestyle centers, central business districts and some stand-alone stores in affluent street locations, and average 2,100 square feet. Destination Maternity combo stores are located in mid-priced regional malls and lifestyle centers and average 2,900 square feet. Destination Maternity superstores are located primarily in outdoor and power centers and central business districts, and average 5,700 square feet.
