In fiscal 2016, the company opened 29 and closed 16 stores domestically, while opening 73 and closing 17 stores internationally.

The company operates stores in multiple formats: Traditional toy stores, which typically range in size from 20,000 to 50,000 square feet and devote approximately 5,000 sq ft to boutique areas for baby products; Baby stores, which typically range in size from 30,000 to 55,000 square feet and devote approximately 3,000 sq ft to traditional toy products; SBS stores, which typically range in size from 30,000 to 70,000 square feet and devote approximately 20,000 to 40,000 sq ft to traditional toy products and approximately 10,000 to 30,000 sq ft to baby products; and Express stores, which typically range in size from 2,000 to 7,000 square feet and many of which are seasonal stores typically open during the winter holidays, and usually have a cumulative lease term of at least two years.
