As of Jun 30, 2015 the company operated 1,291 stores under the Food Lion and Hannaford and Bottom Dollar Food banners in 16 states in the southeastern, mid-Atlantic and northeastern regions of the US.

In fiscal 2013, the company opened 12 new stores and closed 51 stores. In the first nine months of fiscal 2014, the company sold all 154 of its stores under the Harvey's, Sweetbay and Reid's banners to Bi-Lo Holdings, and plans only a limited number of new store openings during 2014 while focusing on remodelings.

At year-end, the company owned 238 stores, 556 stores were operating under finance leases and 720 were operates under operating leases.

Food Lion stores are located in 10 states along the East Coast, range from 25,000 to 45,000 square feet and average approximately 36,000 square feet, with about 24,000 square feet of selling space. Hannaford Bros. stores are located in 5 New England states, range from 25,000 to 50,000 square feet and average approximately 47,000 square feet, with about 40,000 square feet of selling space. Bottom Dollar Food stores are located in New Jersey, Ohio and Pennsylvania, typically range in size from 18,000 to 20,000 square feet, with about 2/3 devoted to selling space.
