As of Sep 30, 2017, there were 256 travel centers in 43 states and Canada under the "TravelCenters of America", "TA", "Petro Stopping Centers" and "Petro" brand names (including 28 operated by franchisees), 233 convenience stores with gasoline stations under the "Minit Mart" brand name, and 50 standalone restaurants primarily under the "Quaker Steak & Lube" brand name (including 33 operated by franchisees).

In fiscal 2016, the company acquired 29 convenience stores, 11 standalone restaurants and franchise agreements for an additional 39 standalone restaurants. During the first nine months of fiscal 2017, the company added 5 net travel centers, 1 net convenience store and 4 net restaurants.

At year end, the company: owned 29 travel centers, 198 convenience store locations and 5 restaurants; leased 199 travel centers, 32 convenience store locations and 7 restaurants; and franchisees either owned or leased 25 travel centers and 39 restaurants.

Travel centers range from 6,000 to 90,000 square feet and average approximately 21,000 square feet, with an average of 90 car parking spaces, 168 truck parking spaces on 23 acres of land. A typical convenience store includes 10 fueling positions and approximately 3,700 square feet of interior space, offering merchandise and prepared foods on approximately 2 acres of land.
