As of May 31, 2017, the company operated 384 stores in the US, including 209 factory, 34 in-line and employee-only, 112 Converse and 29 Hurley stores, and 758 stores internationally, including 642 factory, 71 in-line and employee-only, and 45 Converse stores.

In fiscal 2017, the company added 97 net new stores, including 22 in the US and 75 internationally. During fiscal 2016, the company added 114 net new stores, including 23 in the US and 91 internationally. The company doesn't plan to open many new Niketown or large-format stores, instead focusing on brand experience and other small-format stores.

All stores are leased. Factory stores traditionally averaged approximately 10,000 square feet, with newer stores averaging 15,000 square feet. Niketown stores average approximately 50,000 square feet. In-line and brand experience stores range from 2,500 to 25,000 square feet.
